A mere 4.5-hour drive from London and you will find yourself on the beautiful Rame Peninsula, so quiet and peaceful that it is known as ‘Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner’. Blessed with its own warm micro-climate, it’s the perfect place to unwind and top up on Vitamin D whether in Spring, Summer or Autumn
Rame has something for everybody. It is:
The best place for a good old fashioned family holiday. Perfect for adventure seekers looking for:
sea and kite surfing,
kayak and paddle boarding
or how about scuba diving.
Ideal for soul seekers looking for long peaceful walks with extraordinary views.
Situated right in the heart of Kingsand and Cawsand, Blue Monkey Cornwall is the perfect place to make your base camp and explore from. There is plenty of room for 10 across 5 bedrooms including 2 super king en-suites, a king, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. We are well equipped for babies, dogs, friends and fun!
If you go right, you will pass Cawsand beach and then head for the Peninsula.
The path takes you up to Penlee Point and St Michael’s Mount where you can rest and gaze out to sea for miles.
Keep going around the peninsula to Whitsand Bay with its 5km of coves and sandy beaches, ideal for surfing.
If you go left, you will walk out along the path across the water from Plymouth Hoe.
Gaze and the boats and warships sailing in and out of the harbours.
Amble past forts and follies until you reach the formal gardens of Mount Edgecumbe house where you can stop for tea in one of their excellent cafes.
If you’re too tired to walk back, you can hire a cab from Cremyll or catch the ferry to Plymouth.
Must Dos
You must walk the coastal path in both directions. You won’t regret it!
Take the ferry from Cawsand beach to Plymouth where you will find lots of bars and restaurants as well as interesting places to explore. My favourite is the Smeaton’s Lighthouse.
Take the kayaks and paddle boards that are free for our guests to use from Blue Monkey and explore the coastline from the water.
Visit The Stores – our delicious new local deli – and take a picnic to the beach.
Drink some of the local ales at one of the local pubs. They’re all worth a visit.
