Coronation in Cornwall
Here at Blue Monkey we are getting very excited about the coronation of King Charles III.
The Duchy of Cornwall was created 1337 when Edward III ruled that each future Duke of Cornwall would be the eldest surviving son of the Monarch and heir to the throne.
King Charles became the 24th Duke of Cornwall on the Queen’s accession to the throne in 1952 when he was just 21 and on Saturday, 6 Mary, 2023, he will be crowned King.
What better place to celebrate the coronation and enjoy the bank holiday to follow than right here, in Cornwall.
Here’s what we love about King Charles:
He and Camilla have adopted a sweet little rescue dog.
We provide special welcome packs for visiting dogs including:
– bedtime treats
– a blue monkey to cuddle and take home with them
– a rope toy to play with
– pampering dog shampoo and
– a nice fluffy dog towel to dry off.
King Charles Loves the Beach
King Charles has also been known to sink a pint or two!
Our local pubs will be celebrating in style!
Try out the local beers at the Rising Sun, The Devonport or the Halfway House all within 5 minutes-walk of Blue Monkey Cornwall.
Duchy Originals
King Charles built his own organic food brand which you can buy at Waitrose.
King Charles started the brand because he is passionate about the environment and here in Cornwall there are plenty of great Farm Shops where you can buy freshly grown fruit and vegetables right on our doorstep.
King Charles Loves Sailing
There are lots of exciting crafts to take out on the sea around Blue Monkey. We have 2 free kayaks and paddle boards plus life jackets and paddles free for our guests to use.
Or you can hire a fishing trip with one of the many local charter companies.
Just ask Annabel to arrange it for you or browse through our other Concierge services to see if there is anything else you would like from one of our local service providers, such as a relaxing massage or a family foraging trip.
