Family fun on a budget: Explore Plymouth
There’s plenty for the family to do on a budget in Plymouth. We’ve listed just a few that don’t have to cost the earth.
West Hoe Park in Plymouth is a great place for young children. There’s a play area, a miniature railway and putting green, crazy golf, trampolines, a merry-go-round and a bouncy castle. There is a secret garden with wooden climbing features dotted through the glade and during August Play Day transforms the park into a festival event for children of all ages.
After all that you’ll want to head to The Barbican & Sutton Harbour: a vibrant place of cobbled streets, Jacobean and Tudor buildings and an Elizabethan Garden free to enjoy. It’s also a place where an eclectic mix of Italian, Greek, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Himalayan, Mexican and British restaurants may all be found.
At the end of the day, the ferry will take you back to Cawsand beach, only five minutes walk from Blue Monkey. Look out for dolphins swimming around the ferry.
