Beaches
Blue Monkey is perfectly situated a pebbles throw from 3 sandy beaches, which are perfect for toddlers & adults. Toddlers can safely roam freely running barefoot from the house, children can crab the rock pools and all can fish and kayak. A short ride to the Rame Peninsula will take you to the 7km sandy stretch of Whitsand Bay, ideal for kiting & surfing.
Gardens
Within easy reach of Blue Monkey are some fabulous houses and gardens, including the 18th Century Mount Edgecumbe house and expansive gardens, Anthony house and gardens (Alice in Wonderland was filmed here with Johnny Depp), the fascinating Lost Gardens of Heligan and the famous Eden Project are a short walk or drive away from Blue Monkey.
Walks
The Rame Peninsula is an unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty and Blue Monkey lies directly on the South West Coast Path. West the stunning coastal path takes you to Penlee Point (1 mile), Rame Head (3 miles) and Whitsand Bay (4 Miles), where dolphins regularly visit. East takes you via the coastal path to Mount Edgcumbe Estate & the formal gardens.
Sea / Landscapes
Many talented artists visit and take inspiration from the local sea and landscapes and capture the views via brush and lens. There is an amazing view around each headland and, these can be explored, by foot, bicycle, kayak, ferry or during the summer months the Cawsand Ferry runs to the Barbican Centre in Plymouth, where you can take cruises from The Mayflower Steps, or even charter your own yacht.
