Dogs hate to be left at home!
We welcome you bringing your dogs when you visit Blue Monkey and have been doing so for 15 years +.
We pride ourselves on our core family values and we know that family dogs are at the heart of the family.
We have recently introduced providing a selection of welcoming dog treats for them – including this furry ‘Blue Monkey’ for your dog to cuddle at night and take home with you
Our challenge is to provide the best possible holiday for our guests and their dogs so we asked you what your dogs like to do on holiday –
Swimming!
Dexter and Marmite enjoying a dip in and around the local Kingsand rock pools.
Here at Blue Monkey we are surrounded by wonderful beaches and after a hard week in urban areas, our visiting dogs love to recharge and relax with a reviving swim. Both Kingsand Beach and Cawsand Beach allow dogs and Autumn and Winter months are the best time to visit as they are allowed off the lead from October to Easter.
Top Tip: Don’t forget to take one of the nice fluffy dog towels we provide to dry them off with.
Walking

Our mission is to provide your dog with a place to relax, reconnect with nature, breathe some fresh air and enjoy the surrounding countryside. After a long car journey your dog may suggest a walk up to Penlee Point where you can all stretch your legs and take in the view. You dog may then, of course, want to explore the walk to Mount Edgecumbe – although this is a longer hike best left until you have all had a good night’s rest.
Top Tips: Marmite and Rooster enjoy these tree lined walks in the summer (kinder on the paws apparently!).
Visiting the Dog Friendly Pubs
Our visiting dogs know the importance of rehydrating after (or during) a walk and tell us that they have a great time at the local pubs. Our pubs are particularly dog friendly and there is always a water bowl provided for them to drink from and it’s amazing what you can find to eat under the tables.
Top Tip: The Devenport Inn on the waterfront welcomes dogs all year round and is the perfect resting point on your way back to Blue Monkey from a walk around the Peninsula.
Titivating!
A visit to the pub needs a little preparation with the help of Blue Monkey’s special basket of dog vanity products. We think your dog will enjoy our faith in nature dog shampoo followed by a cuddle in a nice fluffy dog towels and perhaps a quick game with a rope toy before you head out together.
R and R
This is the most important. Your dog brings you to Blue Monkey to rest and relax because your dog knows the huge importance of this (in)activity and is an expert at finding the very best places to practice.
During summer our guest dogs like to doze in the sun on the patio and during the winter they cosy up by the wood burning fire in the sitting room and snack on their specially selected bedtime biccies that we provide.
